The class also creates an excellent outreach opportunity particularly well suited for participants to invite non- or nominally religious friends or neighbors to church.

The goal is for participants to feel confident in their own story and equipped to share it with others.

    Fearless Daughters of the Bible, A Study

    This is a Bible study based on the book Fearless Daughters of the Bible: What You Can Learn from 22 Women Who Challenged Tradition, Fought Injustice and Dared to Lead by J. Lee Grady.  It was taught as a 7-week course for women, combining multiple chapters each week.  Participants read the chapters prior to each class session.  This instructor's outline includes discussion questions, videos and songs used to supplement the book.

    Having the Last Word is the follow up class to Binder for Life, a personal organizational system used at Church of the Resurrection for gathering the documents needed to manage your affairs should you become incapacitated or pass away.  Having the Last Word gives participants the opportunity to craft their memorial service or funeral, complete with choosing music, scriptures and final wishes.  While directed towards people who currently attend a church, it can be an excellent outreach opportunity particularly well suited for participants to invite non- or nominally religious friends or neighbors to church.     Jack Jackson Lecture

    Jack Jackson is a Wesleyan scholar whose research centers on the theology and practices of mission and evangelism both in global contexts in the increasingly post-Christian West. He presented at Church of the Resurrection February 12, 2019 on the topic of his book, REVEAL: Speaking of Jesus in a Multireligious World. Dr. Jackson is the E. Stanley Jones Associate Professor of Evangelism, Mission, and Global Methodism at Claremont School of Theology. Central to Dr. Jackson’s current work is helping prepare persons for Christian leadership in general and pastoral ministry in particular. He is an Elder in the Florida Conference of The United Methodist Church and served a number of churches over his fifteen years in pastoral ministry. He brings extensive experience in global Christianity and Methodism, having studied, taught, or made presentations in England, South Africa, South Korea, Israel, China, Costa Rica, Honduras, Brazil, and Colombia.
